Community is not incidental to who we are: it is how we become ourselves. Kindred consists of two wearable art pieces, deliberately interwoven, each element bonded to the next as a study in how we hold one another. The colors of every current Pride flag, and the shades between them, are paired with the eye motifs foundational to my practice. Here, the eye turns toward recognition instead of surveillance: to be witnessed is to be confirmed, visible, present.
